Residency Application Process
Admissions
CYMT has a rolling admissions process.
Admittance to the Residency program is competitive and involves evaluating the theological fit, clarity of call, academic ability, and practical readiness of all candidates.
Below you will find the steps for applying to the Residency program for either the graduate or certificate programs:
*You must be 21 years of age and have completed your undergrad degree before you begin the program.
Steps to join the Ministry Residency Program
Step 1: Ministry Job Application
If you need a job, the Ministry Application allows you to apply to multiple ministry jobs at one time.
Filling out your application takes some time. Be prepared by collecting this information before you begin:
- Last 3 Employers Information
- Address
- Dates of employment
- Supervisor and their contact information
- Resume
- Cover Letter
If you have a job, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Residency Application
Admittance to the Center for Youth Ministry Training’s Residency Program requires an additional application.
You will need to gather:
- List of schools attended and dates
- Unofficial college transcripts
- Prepare answers to Biographical and Essay questions
- References’ contact information
Note: You must pay $25 application fee or have referral code to complete application.
Step 3: Interview
After reviewing your Ministry and Residency applications, the CYMT admissions staff will be in touch about scheduling a a one-hour interview with some of our Residency staff. After the interview, CYMT will be in touch within 10 business days about your acceptance to the program.
Step 4: Apply for Jobs
The final step is to find the right job if you need one. You can apply for jobs anytime after completing the Ministry App, but if you wait until you are accepted to the Ministry Residency staff will help guide you and advocate for you in the job application process.
The Ministry App will match you with a list of churches, non-profits, or camps who fit your desired location, theology, and qualifications. Simply click apply to all the openings you are interested in.
Application Deadlines
The Residency program has a rolling admissions process. You can be accepted at anytime. Once you have been accepted to the program and found a job then you can start the masters’ or certificate program at the beginning of the next semester.
Master’s Residency
Deadline for January Semester Start = November 15
Deadlines for Summer/Fall Semester Start = April 15
Certificate Residency
Deadline for JanuaryStart = January 1
Deadlines for Summer/Fall Start = September 1
