Exploratory Weekend offers you the experience of getting a glimpse of what life would be like as a CYMT Graduate Resident. We cater this event to be apart of a regular retreat/intensive at our seminaries, so you have a chance to ask questions of current residents and live the life of one. You’ll attend class, hear about life through a CYMT alumni (fellows) perspective, learn our values and rhythm, and close in a worship service all together. It’s a time to discern God’s calling for you to pursue youth ministry and if CYMT is the place where you will thrive.
We’re excited for the chance for you to be apart of our community for the weekend!
Any questions, please email Dea here.
Exploratory Weekends are intentionally scheduled to happen during CYMT academic retreats (also known as “intensives”) so that you get the optimal experience of what it is like being a CYMT graduate resident.
A “retreat” (or “intensive”) is the time in which CYMT graduate residents meet at their appointed seminary to cover the coursework for core, elective, and youth ministry courses. Residents are enrolled as full-time Master of Arts in Youth Ministry students at either Memphis Theological Seminary or Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Retreats happen 4 times each semester; and on the weeks between retreats, residents meet with their discussion groups to process classes and prepare for the next retreat.
