Director of Youth Ministries (Part Time) Austin, TX

St. Mark’s is a church on the greenbelt in the heart of Austin. Our vision is to be a community of transformational belonging in Christ.

St. Mark’s is looking for a gifted youth minister to develop and lead a youth program for 6th-12th graders that features bi-weekly gatherings, regular service opportunities, and intentional spiritual development.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Teaching or coordinating a Sunday morning class for youth during the school year.
• Coordinate an annual summer youth trip, rotating between: camp, pilgrimage, mission/service, camping/adventure, etc. Organize and provide fundraising opportunities as needed. This may include participation in diocesan youth events as available.
• In coordination with clergy and/or partner churches, provide an annual or biannual Confirmation class or retreat for high school students.
• Coordinate the acolyte program and recruit youth for involvement in other ministry areas within the church.
• Communicate with youth and their families regularly through email blasts, group messaging apps, social media, etc.
• Complete Safeguarding God’s Children certification upon employment and ensure all youth ministry activities are in line with diocesan Safeguarding standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Rector.
