Rev. Regina Girten attended Belmont University and completed her Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre and Minor in Dance in 2009 and completed her Masters of the Arts in Youth Ministry at Memphis Theological Seminary in 2018. Following her undergraduate studies, she joined Epiphany Modern Ballet Company as a soloist and company member. In 2008 she began pursuing her Masters of Religion through the Center for Youth Ministry Training and Memphis Theological Seminary and became the Junior High Program Director for Brentwood United Methodist Church. After a trip performing for an orphanage in Cambodia, Regina found a passion for spreading the power of the arts to underdeveloped countries. In 2010 she became the Executive Director of Firefleyes, a non-profit organization for the creative arts and sports, partnering with an orphanage in Sierra Leone, West Africa. In the summer of 2014, Regina returned to Nashville from Los Angeles, CA where she was dancing in a Modern Dance Company in Hollywood and taught ballet to children in Pasadena. She served as Head of Children’s Ministry at Belle Meade United Methodist Church, for Open Table Nashville as their Volunteer Coordinator working with the unhoused community, freelanced for Compassion International and Youth Ministry Architects, and served at Brentwood UMC as Missions and Outreach Program Director overseeing their South Africa Child Sponsorship Ministry. Regina was recently Commissioned for Ordination as a Provisional Deacon in the TN Conference of the UMC. She currently serves at Providence United Methodist as their Pastor of Outreach and choreographs for churches around the Nashville area. Regina shares life’s journey with her husband, Jeff, and 4-year-old daughter, Evie Mae.
