Director Children’s Ministry (Part-Time) – New York, NY

Metro Hope Church is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Director who is passionate, organized and creative to provide leadership to our growing children’s ministry. This role requires the individual to be available for in-person programming with children aging in range from K – Grade 6.

In rhythm with Metro Hope’s mission to, “Serve those that serve the world” , Metro Hope Kids seeks to serve the families of our congregation with a robust children’s program that emphasizes authentic relationships with God and others. In order to cultivate that community, we desire to be inclusive to all children, and build relationships across gender, race, age, culture and class, in our program and in the church.

It is our hope and prayer that children part of our program will have a strong and foundational understanding of what it means to be an child of the Kin-dom of God, living out the great commission: to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to go into all the world and make disciples.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with the Executive Pastor to implement and adapt curriculum for classes
• Oversee and Manage the Associate Director of Children’s Ministry
• In partnership with the Associate Director of Children’s Ministry develop curriculum that nurture children’s spiritual growth through hands-on learning, inquisitive Bible exploration and building community among their peers
• Recruit and organize volunteers
• Provide training, orientation and overall support for volunteers
• Be available for in-peron church services (both set up and clean up)
• Establish safety practices for the children and classroom spaces
• Conduct background checks for all children’s volunteers
• Manage inventory and supplies for the children’s ministry
• Organize childcare for special church events such as retreats or town hall meetings● Communicate with parents, church administrator and fellow church staff to ensure holistic care for the children and solicit feedback (when necessary)

Preferred Experience:

• At least 2 Years of prior experience developing lesson plans and working with children between the ages of K – Grade 6
• Degree, or currently enrolled in a post-secondary program focused on Early Childhood Education, Seminary or related field.

• $25-30/hr based on experience
