CYMT partners with churches from multiple denominations within a four-hour radius of Memphis, TN and Austin, TX to place incoming graduate residents for 3 years of practicum as youth ministers. In addition to the placement of the graduate resident in the church, CYMT equips partner churches with the tools necessary to develop sustainable youth ministries and walks alongside them over the 3-year program.

CYMT partners with congregations and individuals representing the theological views and diversity of mainline Protestant Christianity. We partner with mainline Protestant denominations including the United Methodist Church, Presbyterian (PCUSA), Cumberland Presbyterian, Lutheran (ECLA), Episcopal, Disciples of Christ, American Baptist, and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Our partner seminaries include Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary or Memphis Theological Seminary.
CYMT graduate residents will serve 25 hours per week as youth minister over the 3-year program

CYMT selects only the top candidates from a national pool of applicants
Personalize coaching for the graduate resident and the church’s youth ministry team
Must complete initial interview process, create a youth ministry tram or youth council, allow training church resident to participate in all CYMT classes and retreats, and develop or submit a church-adopted child protection policy.

The partner church’s investment covers the graduate resident’s tuition, books, seminary fees, coaching, mileage, and monthly stipend. The partner church is responsible for providing housing for the graduate resident.
